Okay, well not, like, literally.
But my friend (and my occasional drummer) Anders had this crazy idea to recreate Peter Gabriel's 1994 Secret World Live concert in its entirety with set pieces, props, choreography, 3D mapping, and more — all in front of a live audience.
So we are,... and I'm playing Peter Gabriel.
It's a serious undertaking and a big production team is involved, plus some of the best musicians in Portland, Oregon, including:
Chet Lyster-Guitar
(Lucinda Williams, Eels, Jayhawks)
Gil Assayas-Keys, Synth, Organ
(T-Pain, GLASYS)
Margaret Wehr- Vocals, Violin
(El Vy, Y La Bamba, Moorea Masa and the Mood)
Sarah King- Vocals
(Love Gigantic, Nowhere Band, White Album Christmas)
David Langenes- Guitar
(Love Gigantic , The Stolen Sweets, Robert Wynia)
Greg Hyatt-Bass
(The Last Waltz, Kris Deelane and the Hurt)
Joe Mengis-Drum Programming, Percussion
(Priory, Climber)
Anders Bergstrom-Drums
(Tony Furtado, Climber)
I'm beyond excited, and I've got my work cut out for me too.
If you're NOT in the Northwest United States, we're hoping to have video of the show, and I'll let you know as that gets solidified.
If you ARE in the Northwest, I hope you'll come see us in March at Revolution Hall! It's a benefit for MercyCorp, and happening one night only.
